Basnett Family win southern tablelands ewe comp championship

In February long term clients Campbell and Jo Basnett were judged winners of the Gunning Flock Ewe competition for the second consecutive year. The Basnett’s went one step further this year when their maiden ewes were awarded Champion flock in the ANZ and New South Wales Stud Merino Breeders Southern Tablelands flock ewe championship. First and second place getters in the Gunning, Boorowa, Crookwell and Taralga ewe competitions are eligible to compete for this award.

Speaking at the judging of the Basnett flock, competition judge, Sally Martin, SheepMetriX, Young NSW said “these ewes certainly reflect the quality of the rams purchased from the Bogo Stud at Cootamundra”

The win was a popular one with spectators who followed the judging as they voted Campbell and Jo’s flock winners of the peoples choice prize as well.

Bogo Merinos congratulate Campbell and Jo on their success.
